Storm Songs

I've always had a soft spot for songs about rain, the pitter-patter of a little black rain cloud dripping on my head, in rhythm as we spin around, the rain falls down. I've heard it clean off the dirt and despair, wipe away the slightest thought of pain, renew and refresh until the singer was born anew.

The rain rewines a stereotype, purifies the soul as the wind whips a wire against a flagpole, flag forced to three-quarters mast, mast of Odyssean ships to mimic the beat of the waves, of the rain, of a waterlogged thunderstorm tune crooned by sirens down in petrichor storm clouds in charcoals and gunmetal greys.
