Poetry by Nashira

Sapphic

Women, we lose

when we turn each other

into measures we

hold each other up against.

One woman’s life is not a liability—

not a hill to die on; not a caliber

for queerness / you turn

your back on your kin;

your kin into kindling &

haven’t we burned enough?
