Poetry by Marlena Dominique Chiles

You feel like home.

Everything feels right with you vs when I’m

alone.

Comfort when I fall asleep by your side

With you I never feel the need to hide.

My home is falling apart.

You want a new start

Stubbornly clinging

I can’t shake this feeling

I’m causing the pain in my heart from this point

You no longer waste thoughts on my

counterpoint.

Clinging to a home that is no longer warm

Wasting not a second on anyone who warns

Digging my grave with each encounter

I crave your touch despite its effect as

downer

How am I to move on when you’re so familiar?

How cam I to stay calm when every mention of

her makes me bewildered?

I’m a wreck for you

I don’t mind if you join me in my tomb.

Reigning from the suburban town of Fairfield, California, Marlena Dominique Chiles can be found binge watching the latest anime series or the Office. At the age of 25, Marlena is already a loving mother of one cat, with a serious addiction to sushi.
