The Potato Eaters

Vincent dipped figurative fingers in

Earthen bowls,

Sodden—

Years of sweat.

Potatoes stuff sunken cheeks,

Eyes bulge.

Sipping black tea.

Pale bulb canopy—

The Netherlands

Dark and dark!

Painters pick single wrinkles,

Nudge his star.

Vincent’s ears are still stuck,

In bowls of

The Potato Eaters!

Dr. Pragya Suman is Doctor by profession, and she is posted in medical college. Literature is her passion. She is from India.
