The Carrie Bradshaw Theory
Carrie Bradshaw said women come to New York in search of “labels and love—”
Why can’t they go any place in the world and search for “confidence and self-love?”
I have a train as long as my tale, too, Carrie, but it’s not a Vivienne Westwood wedding gown.
It is a tale of how a girl found self-love.
On my own terms, she wakes up everyday and narrates her life just as if Sarah Jessica Parker is doing it for her. Thus, every day, she writes her own story, remembering to love
herself, just as much as she loves her boyfriend, her cat, her mother, her father, her brother, her friends. She forgets, at times, to stop pleasing others, and reward herself with love—
sometimes that love comes in the form of a SHEIN order or simply a coffee with milk and Splenda. Other times, that love
comes in the form of a manicure, or simply the art of writing and empowering others.
That is her definition of self-love
and self-love has no labels.
