chickadee doyen

virile plumage


observes tractor mutiny

from the safety of a

chain-linked fence


contemplating whether

this was the same

stage in which his ancestors


perched in bafflement

as the world turned from

thimble to junkyard




Samuel Guest is a Jewish/Canadian poet, author, and educator who was diagnosed with a non-verbal learning dis/ability at the age of seven. Some of his poetry has appeared in Montreal Writes, Peeking Cat Poetry, and Anti-Heroin Chic. His first collection “The Radical Dreams” was published back in April of 2018. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
