Poem by Paul Robert Mullen

now for forever

i banished you from my head

though it made me sick to think of all

the hours i'd surrounded

you with arms

walls promises of something

more than everyday life

there were times

when forever was nothing more

than cuddles through movies

as cold nights moved into town

sitting on park benches at dusk

with the insects and the breeze

hot chocolate  smiles

comfort in sadness

now forever is today

this afternoon

this hour

minute

glorious shitty second

drifting through luck

the past close behind fading

tangled up wiry uncertain futures
