Poem by Melodie Jones

BEFORE

transcend the sky

baby we were so high

blinded by our love

everything orbited around us

stars twinkling in our eyes

limitless and floating

gravity didn’t exist

in space

nothing existed

except our love

except us

AFTER

black hole swallowed us hole

left in the dark all alone

stars no longer shine

you’re no longer mine

meteors falling

up in flame

it hurts to say your name

crash and burn

leaving decay

its lonely

up in space
