Poem by Dr. Krushna Chandra Mishra

REST Why at all when the sun goes down  I find in me an unusual emptiness that grows and grows making me  dull and pale and placid and faded till to bed I go for rest for a whole night's time?

Strange it looks that as the sun comes out making the eastern sky golden and bright, I get a strength from nowhere as it grows and a distinct restlessness to act and achieve arises in me prodding me all the time to work till again the sun goes down for a repetition  of my sagging energy and  growing despair.

Dr. Krushna Chandra Mishra is a University teacher at Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh (INDIA).
