Poem by Adaeze I.

fireworks

gravel becomes loose dirt

as i come to the edge of a cliff.

faint blasts of red sparkles explode

above the worn harbor, the light revealing

splintered wood and missing planks.

dangling my feet over the edge,

gold and blue showers violently crackle,

the light blinding me.

but the darkness has soon returned again.

only ornate detonations,

sizzling and hissing as they perish,

blend into the shadows

that once held them.
