Poem by Melodie Jones

Doctor told me I should take the “Proper Dose” after The Story So Far

Can’t see through the smoke

of the fire in my mind

Filling the hollow inside

with prescription medicine

Watching the hands moving

to count the minutes

wasted feeling empty and alone

Black hole with no remorse

I swallow everything

except prescription medicine

doctor said that I should take

Because I’m not okay

I wanna feel okay

Because I’m not okay

I wanna feel okay
