Poem by Melodie Jones

Cigarettes in the dark

Orange glow of my cigarette

illuminated against the dark

navy blue sky

Minty cool wind caresses me

as the road stretches on forever

Whispering empty promises of a future

Acoustic guitar and a rugged voice

mixes in with the blowing wind

It speaks to me and it makes me sad
