Poem by Juliette Sebock

I believe

I say it as an affirmation,

stepping from the train tracks

to take in a new city,

Christmas just a far-off spot

on the horizon.

I believe.

I believe in magic.

I believe that wishing for something

might just bring it into being.

I believe that you can bring goodness

into your life just by believing that you can.

I believe in love.

I believe in love at first sight,

in lifelong loves, in soulmates,

soup snakes.

I believe in life after love.

I believe that all will be forgiven

or at least forgotten, too far past

to hold a grudge against.

I believe

that your dreams and visions

and hopes and goals can come true

with a bit of hard work and pixie dust,

I believe.

I believe.

I believe.
